Graduated at Technical Industrial Institute, L.B. Alberti of Rome.

He then attended a post-graduated specialization course in industrial chemistry at the Enrico Fermi Institute.

From 1970 to 1980 he carries on research activities in the solid state physics and electrochemistry Laboratories of the Experimental Metallurgical Centre.

From 1970 to 1985 he was appointed as Lecturer of chemical analysis and steichiometry for the evening courses at the Vittorino da Feltre Institute.

From 1980 to 1993 he is entrusted as a National Secretary of Fiom-Cgil for Transportation particularly for the Aerospace and Defence Sector, for which he was the Expert for the European Commissions.

In July 1993 he was appointed as Secretary General of Aerospace Industries Association (A.I.A.), which became A.I.A.D. (Italian Industries Federation for Aerospace, Defence and Security)  in October 1997 as a result of the merger among AIA, RITAD and ANIE-DSS.

From October 1995 to 1997 he was a member of the Board of R.A.I. (Italian Aeronautical Register).

Since July 1999 he’s been a member of the Board of C.I.R.A. (Italian Consortium of Aeronautical Researches).

From December 2001 to January 2006 he was a member of the Board of C.S.M. (Centro Sviluppo Materiali).

From January 2003 to September 2008 he was President of UNAVIA (The Italian Association for Standardization, Education and Training in the Aerospace Sector).

Moreover he is a member of the Board of ASD (AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe) and Government Observer of the NIAG (NATO Industrial Advisory Group).

Since January 2007 until March 2011 he has been appointed as Chairman and CEO of Alenia Hellas Company in Athens.

Since October 2011 until December 2013 he has been a member of the Board of Agusta Aerospace Services A.A.S..

Since April 2013 has been re-elected Member of the Board of C.I.R.A. (the Italian Aerospace Research Center), where has been appointed as Chairman.

Moreover in December 2002 he has been decorated with the important Italian honorary office of “Cavaliere al merito della Repubblica”.

Since June 2017 has been decorated “Ufficiale al merito della Repubblica”.
