Francesco Di Maio, a lawyer, holds a degree in law and a postgraduate school in civil law from the University of Naples Federico II.

Since 1989, after more than ten years of service in the managerial roles of the Carabinieri and the State Police, mainly in the management of investigative offices and a significant managerial experience in Local Authorities, he has held the position of Head of Corporate Security in the national company for air navigation services for 19 years and as CISO in an important Italian private group.

Since July 2024 he has been Chief Security, Risk Management & Business Continuity Officer at Elettronica S.p.A.- ELTGroup.

Francesco retains qualified international certifications in the field of aviation security issued by ICAO, ECAC and national Civil Aviation Authority, information security (CISA, CISM, CRISC, C-CISO EC- Council, CompTIA CASP+, ISO 27001:2022 lead Auditor; ISO 22301:2019 Lead Auditor & lead Implementer, ISO 28000:2022 lead Auditor, GAQM Certified Project Director 2024). He is also certified as a Level III Senior Security Manager according to the UNI 10459:2017 standard and has attended relevant courses of the Ministry of Defense including the IASD Course in the Academic Year 2006-2007, and civil-military collaboration.

Furthermore. he has held the role of national representative and held chairpersonship roles in specialized bodies of international organizations such as ICAO, CANSO, EU and NATO, where he still performs civil servant functions  as Cybersecurity Expert of the NATO Transport Group Civil Aviation.

He collaborates with national and foreign universities and research and training institutions and is the author of numerous specialized publications in the domains of competence.
